When Mount St. Mary's began creating their schedule for this season, they always had the NCAA tournament in mind.
With some major out-of-conference competition on the schedule including Minnesota, Michigan, West Virginia, and Iowa State. In fact, they entered conference play at 2-11 on the season.
That's right, Mount St. Mary's was able to finish the season on an absolute tear, finishing with a 14-4 record in conference and a NEC championship.
