Norovirus Infections Continue To Climb In Outbreak

TOLEDO, Ohio - At least 300 people have been sickened in a Norovirus outbreak that has been traced back to a Maumee restaurant.

WTOL 11 reports the Toledo Lucas County Health Department confirms more than 300 cases have been confirmed from the outbreak at Mama C's Donuts on Conant Street. Another 19 have been sickened by secondary contact.

The restaurant has been closed since the discovery of the outbreak. The heath department says the owners have been very cooperative throughout the investigation.

Those infected by the Norovirus usually become sick 24 to 48 hours after exposure and their symptoms usually last one to two days. However, those infected can still transmit the virus for up to two weeks after infection.
