CVS To Buy, Then Shutter, ProMedica Pharmacies

(Toledo, OH) Patients who use a half-dozen ProMedica pharmacies will soon get prescriptions filled elsewhere.

The Toledo-based healthcare system sold six ProMedica Pharmacy Counter locations Tuesday to CVS Pharmacy, which plans to shutter five of them.  Those include locations in Northwood, Maumee, and Sylvania.

CVS will convert the Pharmacy Counter on Navarre Avenue in Oregon to one of its branded drugstores in November.  Prescriptions from the other stores will be transferred to nearby CVS locations next month.
