New Jeep Wrangler Redesigned for Performance

(Toledo, OH) More details are spilling out on what the next-generation, Toledo-made Jeep Wrangler will look like.

Fiat-Chrysler put details of the new Wrangler into its dealer information systems-- and word quickly leaked. The new Wrangler will be available six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions, with 17 and 18 inch tires, in all-season, all-terrain, and off-road forms.

The bigger, wider, and heavier wheelbase suggests the new Jeep will have increased engine power and efficiency, beefed-up suspension and strengthened axles.

Jeep has dropped the two-door Sahara version, but maintains Sport and Rubicon packages. The four-door model is beoming increasingly popular with customers and will be available in all three.

The new Wrangler will come in colors of "granite crystal metallic gray, acid yellow, firecracker red, billet silver, black, and "nacho."

According to UAW officials, laid-off Jeep workers return to the assembly line September 18th to begin work on the long-awaited Wranglers, with the iconic SUV due in showrooms as early as November.
