(Toledo, OH) The challenger in the Toledo mayor's race is picking up some major endorsements.
Toledo Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson may be the endorsed Democrat for re-election, but her opponent is gaining the support of several groups this week.
The city's public safety forces are now backing Lucas County Treasurer Wade Kapsukiewicz. The unedorsed Democrat today picks up the backing of Firefighters Local 92, the Toledo Police Patrolman’s Association and the Toledo Police Command Officers Association, mainly on a proposal to beef up the Toledo's police force to 660 officers.
The Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Fund also announced this week the endorsement of the upstart Democrat. The political action committee says it backs candidates who understand and work to preserve a pro-business climate.
