The St. Louis Cardinals are getting support from Senator Claire McCaskill in asking for safety certification for Busch Stadium. The senator is asking the Department of Homeland Security to grant the request which would give the Cardinals legal protections in the event of a terrorist attack or mass shooting. The organization applied for it in July but it hasn't been granted yet.
The Safety Act was passed after 9/11 and allows businesses to develop anti-terrorism technologies and practices. In return, it places limits on possible lawsuits filed by victims.
