Amnesty For Delinquent Ohio Taxpayers

(Columbus, OH) Ohio's delinquent taxpayers are getting a break.

The Ohio Department of Taxation is offering a six-week amnesty program in early 2018 for residents and businesses with unreported or underreported tax debts to pay a reduced amount of interest and avoid owing further penalties if they settle up.

The amnesty program runs January 1st to February 15th, but only applies to tax delinquencies due before May first of this year-- and are currently unknown to the department of taxation. So department officials are unsure how many Ohio taxpayers may be eligible.

Ohio's last tax amnesty period in 2012 brought in $27 million to state coffers.
