Marina District Investment Now Tops $55 Million

(Toledo, OH) Redevelopment in the Marina District is expanding to include buildings at the corner of Front and Main in East Toledo.

Columbus developer Frank Kass told Toledo City Council Tuesday he has purchase contracts for all of the property at that intersection, making total investment $55 million.

One Front Street building will be torn down, a second one renovated. A retail center will be built, anchored by Huntington Bank on land now housing a car wash and gas station.

Construction is expected to start in April on 360 market-rate apartments in the Marina District, the first ones set to open in the spring of 2019.

ProMedica and the Toledo Metroparks also are working on plans for a riverfront park to open about the same time.
