Toledo City Council Approves Zoning Changes

(Toledo, OH) The Marina District clears its final regulatory hurdle before construction can begin early next year.

Toledo city council Tuesday evening approved a zoning change to allow for a Columbus developer to begin building a 360-unit apartment complex in East Toledo. The $40 million development will be partially built on the former Toledo Sports Arena site. The developer also has purchase contracts for buildings at the corner of Front and Main where a retail and office complex is planned.

Toledo city officials also are hoping a former shopping mall site will be attractive to industrial developers. City Council voted to rezone the old North Towne Square site for industrial uses. The vacant lot is seen as a prime location for Fiat Chrysler to develop an outdoor storage area for the new Jeep Wrangler.
