Fostoria School Remains Closed After Fire

(Fostoria, OH) Fostoria educators are scrambling to get classes going again after a fire earlier this week at a school.

Fostoria middle school students will resume classes temporarily at St. Wendelin Catholic School, but a start date is still not known.

The school board and superintendent are still looking to secure temporary space for high school students.

A boiler room fire caused extensive damage and displaced nearly 800 students, while classes had to be canceled the rest of this week. Cleaning crews are working around the clock to get the Fostoria Middle and High School safe enough for students and staff to eventually return, but they have to replace ceiling tiles and clean duct work.

Students lockers were cleaned out and their belongings boxed up, so parents could pick up the items Thursday for once school does resume.
