AW Memorial to Benefit from Fundraiser

(Whitehouse, OH) There's a fundraiser tonight toward efforts to build an Anthony Wayne veterans memorial.

The mayor of Whitehouse says about $8,000 has been raised toward the estimated $300.000 cost of a new memorial honoring the military and first responders in that community's Veterans Memorial Park.

The public space will honor each one of the armed forces, along with police, firefighters, and EMS. Each branch of the service will get its own stone monument, with a separate section for first responders.

Third Street Cigar in Waterville is hosting a fundraiser from 5:30 to 9 p.m. featuring live entertainment, a silent auction, live entertainment, food, and a cash bar. Construction on the memorial is expected to start next spring.
