Sheriff Lowers Age For Corrections Officers

(Toledo, OH)  A shortage of corrections officers at the Lucas County Jail is leading to changes in hiring requirements.

Sheriff John Tharp lowered the age requirement for corrections officers yesterday from 21 to 19-years-old in hopes of attracting more candidates.

At least 60 openings will be available Friday at a Criminal Justice Career Fair at the OhioMeansJobs office in downtown Toledo.
