19-21 October  – (Toledo, OH) Tent City 2018 – This is a weekend-long Festival of Compassion that rallies the community’s compassion for those who often see none. Businesses, churches, youth groups, and schools all donate, volunteer and/or spend the night learning how to serve those who have become our friends. ALL ARE WELCOME! 19-20 October – (Perrysburg, OH) Garrison Ghost Walk – Come to Fort Meigs for a "spirited" stroll this fall during Garrison Ghost Walk. Tour the fort with your 1812 guide after dark and encounter the spookier side of this historic place. 19 October – (Toledo, OH) Little Boo at the Zoo! – This years Little Boo at the Zoo, will take place on Oct. 18 and Oct. 19. The event features trick or treating from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., crafts, puppet shows and free games for toddlers and preschool-aged children. Oct. 20 to Oct. 21, the Pumpkin Path event will have trick or treating, pumpkin carving demonstrations, bounce houses and magic shows for all ages from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information visit toledozoo.org.

19 October – (Toledo, OH)  15th Annual Cool Cat Strut – Paws and Whiskers Cat Shelter will host its annual Halloween fund-raiser later this week. The 15th-annual Cool Cat Strut is slated for 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at St. Clement’s Hall. The event features a costume contest and music by Decorative Sound’s Michael Baginski, Happy the Clown, and Shaman Tarot readings. 20 October – (Toledo, OH) Mayor’s Chess Tournament – Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz will host a “Mayor’s Chess Tournament” from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Toledo Public Schools Educational Campus, 1609 N. Summit St., at the corner of Summit and Bush. The tournament will be held in the former YMCA gymnasium. Registration is from 8 to 9 a.m. Mayor Kapszukiewicz will open the tournament in the morning and play a round of chess. He will also award trophies at the conclusion. Members of Toledo City Council will also be present.

20 October – (Sylvania, OH) NWOH Spirit of Sierah Run – This is our 2nd annual race in honor of Sierah Joughin. She was taken from us at the young age of 20 but had loved and lived life to the fullest. We have a NEW date and have some really exciting plans. The FIRST 1,000 adults to register will get a 3/4 pullover! Please register by the end of June to guarantee your size. This year we will have a TRICK or TREAT activity for the kids. 20 October – (Toledo, OH) Public Ghost Hunt at the Toledo Police Museum – The Toledo Police Museum, located at 2201 Kenwood Blvd.,  will be hosting a Ghost Hunt on Friday, October 12 AND Saturday, October 20th. The hunt begins at 7pm and ends at 12 midnight. The hunt is being conducted by Haunted Toledo's very own Ghost Hunters. They hunters have investigated the museum and discovered an agitated male spirit living in the museum's basement. The museum also has the shocking replica of Ohio's electric chair, "Old Sparky", on display along with the stories of the individuals from Toledo who were executed in the chair. Cost of this adventure is $20.00 for adults. Children 12 through 17 are $15.00. Admission includes a ghost hunting experience by professional ghost hunters, along with donuts, coffee and cider. Advance tickets can be purchased at the museum during regular museum hours, Friday and Saturday, 10am to 4pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door the day of the hunt. 21 October – (Sylvania, OH) Sylvania Fall Festival Inaugural Pumpkin Carving Contest – Are you a master pumpkin carver? Try your hand at our Inaugural Pumpkin Carving Contest! Contestants will arrive 10:30am at the Eddie Boggs Corner Park on the corner of Maplewood and Main Street in Downtown Sylvania and the contest will begin at 11:00am. Pumpkins will be provided to the contestants, but contestants must provide their own tools and gloves. You will have 1.5 hours to complete your carving and carving will end at 12:30pm. All pumpkins will be judged by Sylvania Mayor Craig Stough and the winner will be announced at 12:45pm and will receive a special award. Must be 21+ to enter and waiver and $10 payment must be turned in to be entered. Limited to the 1st 5 paid participants. https://www.facebook.com/events/2038483586463869/
