Former Parks Commissioner Indicted On Theft In Office

TOLEDO, Ohio - The former commissioner of Toledo's parks department is facing a felony charge for theft in office. 

WTOL 11 reports Lisa Renee Ward was indicted Friday on one charge of theft in office. Ward is accused of stealing between $1,000 and $7,500 during her time in office at the Division of Parks, Recreation and Forestry. The alleged theft took place in June 2017.

Ward served as commissioner of the department from March 2015 until January 2018, when Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz took office.
