Pistons Grab Another 1st Round Pick In Trade With Bucks

Just about twenty hours until the start of the 2019 NBA Draft and the Detroit Pistons have made a trade with Milwaukee for wing Tony Snell.

Detroit will send forward Jon Leuer to the Bucks for Snell and the 30th pick in Thursday nights draft. Leuer, who spent his last two of three seasons of his pistons tenure on the mend, is on an expiring deal set to make $9.5 Million this upcoming season. Leuer played sparingly last season under new head coach Dwane Casey and was acquired more than likely to create cap space for the Bucks. This trade comes after Kris Middleton declined his $13 million player option to become an unrestricted free agent. Malcolm Brogdon is another Buck who will most likely use this new cap space to sign to a long term deal.

For Detroit, Tony Snell adds depth to the Pistons weakest position. Snell is a career 38% three-point shooter and will be a welcome sight in the rotation for Detroit. Snell is set to make $11.3 million this year and $12.1 million in 2020-21 and then is an unrestricted free agent after that season. The 30th pick in the draft is just icing on top for the Pistons who already own the 15th pick and now all of a sudden have the ammo to maybe move up into the top ten.

The NBA Draft is tonight at 7:30 P.M. in Brooklyn, New York.
